4 Managing Deadlines in Actionstep
Workflow ensures that deadlines are entered at the appropriate steps Task due dates can be set relative to “key dates” Custom list views allow you to see all upcoming deadlines You can optionally receive deadlines via

5 Upcoming deadlines on matter home page
Deadlines can be entered for each matter and will show on the matter home page for everyone to see

6 Deadlines on user calendars
Deadlines can also be linked to user’s calendars

7 Sync to Gmail or Outlook
Your Actionstep calendar can be synced to Outlook or Gmail so you can see deadlines on your personal calendar and mobile devices

8 Deadline reporting You can create custom list views of all deadlines

9 Sort, Filter, Download, Email
The list views allow you to filter the results. For example by case type, date range. You can create lists that show all deadline for the current week. The list views can be exported to Excel or you can setup a heads-up rule to you a list of deadlines on a regular schedule. So you don’t need to be logged into Actionstep to see them.

10 Integration (optional)
Automatic Deadline Management Actionstep has an optional integration with LawToolBox that will automatically calculate your deadlines based on the court and a trigger date. For example if you use the Trial Date as the trigger date then all deadlines will be calculaed relative to the trial date and willl take into account the court rules for weekends, public holidays and delivery mechanisms (by hand, regular mail, emeil, etc).

11 Once the integration is installed you will see it in the Admin menu where you can setup the defaults for your state and courts

12 Rule Changes If the rules change you will be automatically notified and can make decisions on whether to apply these to existing cases. All future cases will use the new rules.

13 Accessing LawToolBox from within a Matter
To calculate deadlines for a specific matter you click on the plugins link and choose LawToolBox

14 Matter Settings and Calendars
You can then select the state, toolset and associated calendars

15 Select a Trigger Select a trigger date

16 Choose the deadlines you wish to track
All deadlines will then be calculated and you can choose which ones you want to track

17 Deadlines saved to the matter
The deadlines are then saved to the matter and will show up in the deadline list views and on the selected user’s calendars.
