2. Oktoberfest
The Oktoberfest begins in September (September 16th) and ends in October (hence the name) on the first Sunday in October, or on October 3, whatever is later. It lasts for 16 days at least.

3. Thus, in "good" years the Fest will be extended to catch the 3rd October - the Day of German Unity, a bank holiday - on a Monday or Tuesday. This happened in 2016, and it will happen in 2017 again (hoorah!).

4. Oktoberfest
