Boundaries issues in Counselling
Boundaries are set out the duty of care therapist have towards their clients. Clients should expect their therapist to act in their best interest at all times. A therapist must ensure that a high level of trust exist between themselves and their clients.

So what are the boundaries ?
Boundaries are agreed limits within which the psychological safety of the client is ensured. Those protect not only the client but also the therapist.

Boundaries list Sexual relationships between client and therapist,
Confidentiality, Limits of own skills, Client resistance, Practitioner resistance, Professionalism.

Task P5 tips In order to achieve you P5, you will carry on from the presentation which you created for your P4. You will need first to explain what are boundaries and how those apply in counselling/helping relationships. You will need then need to explain the following boundaries: Sexual relationships between client and therapist, Confidentiality, Limits of own skills, Client resistance, Practitioner resistance, Professionalism.
