The Opinions… USA & GB wanted lasting peace, but France disagreed
USA wanted: disarmament, free trade and League of Nations- League of Nations: solve future disputes before they led to war. GB wanted to avoid another war- harsh treaty might provoke Germany to seek revenge as soon as it could France- invaded by Germany twice, wanted to weaken Germany so it could not attack again

Germany: War Guilt clause- sole responsibility for causing war pay full costs of war- $32 Billion surrender all overseas colonies

Germany: surrendered part of it’s pre-war territory coalfields were to be given to France for at least 15 years Rhineland, German border with France, was to be demilitarized accept restrictions on the size of its armed forces.
