2 1. And now O Lord, what wait I long-er for?
my ex - pec - ta tion ev - er is in Thee;

3 De - liv - er me from all my sin - ful - ness;
the scorn of fool ish men O make not me.

4 2. Yes, I was dumb; I o-pened not my mouth,
Be cause this work was done at Thy com - mand.

5 But now re- move Thy stroke a - way from me;
I am con-sumed be-neath Thy smit-ing hand.

6 3. Thou with re-bukes dost chas-ten man for sin;
His beau - ty fades be-neath the touch of death;

7 It is con-sumed as by the fret - ting moth.

8 4. Lord, hear my prayers; heed Thou my cry and tears;
