Fireprotecting of Forests in Poland & Europe

Types of fires We distinguish several types of fires erupting in forests: -Natural Fires- -Bottom Fires- -Upper Fires-

Natural Fires Erupting as a result of intense drought on peatlands, during such a fire, deposits of peat and even shallow brown coal deposits, are consumed by fire. The most difficult to extinguish - they are spotted late, although they do not move fast. There is no certainty that despite firefighting everything was extinguished.

Bottom Fires The most common among the fires erupting in forests, also in Poland, are during the burning of humus, litter, brushwood and plants of the forest floor and young trees

Upper Fires Spreading in the crowns of trees (especially pines), fire is usually transmitted to the crown from a ground fire through the branches and crowns of low trees, depending on the speed of the wind, such fire is moving at varying speeds, up to a dozen or so kilometers per hour.

Reasons of fire The most common causes of these fires are: smoking, burning fire, using barbecues, burning branches, burning post-harvest and plant residues, burning copper wire insulation. Fires resulting from the lack of risk assessment capabilities for fire-fighting; The direct cause of these fires are most often: playing with open fire, burning fires, using fireworks, lightning discharge, fires caused by catastrophes, military exercises, ammunition testing, weapons and equipment storage.

Forest fire prevention
And remember! It is better to prevent than to treat! Do not: smoke and throw away the stubs; burn grass in forests; do bonfires in forests; leave rubbish and bottles made from glass; let children play with fire;
