(1) The Blindness of the Pharisee’s (Seen in a Hardened heart)

Mark 8:11-13 And the Pharisees came out and began to argue with Him, seeking from Him a sign from heaven, to test Him And sighing deeply in His spirit, He said, “Why does this generation seek for a sign? Truly I say to you, no sign shall be given to this generation.” 13 And leaving them, He again embarked and went away to the other side.

Mark 3:2 And they were watching Him {to see} if He would heal him on the Sabbath, in order that they might accuse Him.

Mark 3:22 And the scribes who came down from Jerusalem were saying, “He is possessed by Beelzebul,” and “He casts out the demons by the ruler of the demons.”

Matt. 16:2,3 But He answered and said to them, “When it is evening, you say, ‘ {It will be} fair weather, for the sky is red.’ 3 “And in the morning, {‘There will be} a storm today, for the sky is red and threatening.’ Do you know how to discern the appearance of the sky, but cannot {discern} the signs of the times?

Matt. 16:4 “An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign; and a sign will not be given it, except the sign of Jonah.” And He left them, and went away.

“Even if a miracle should be wrought in the open market place before a thousand witnesses, I would rather mistrust my senses than admit a miracle.”

(2) The Blindness of the Disciples (Seen in a mind in the world)

Mark 8:14-16 And they had forgotten to take bread; and did not have more than one loaf in the boat with them And He was giving orders to them, saying, “Watch out! Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the leaven of Herod.” 16 And they {began} to discuss with one another {the fact} that they had no bread.

Mark 8:17,18 And Jesus, aware of this, said to them, “Why do you discuss {the fact} that you have no bread? Do you not yet see or understand? Do you have a hardened heart? 18 “HAVING EYES, DO YOU NOT SEE? AND HAVING EARS, DO YOU NOT HEAR? And do you not remember,

Mark 8:19-21 when I broke the five loaves for the five thousand, how many baskets full of broken pieces you picked up?” They said to Him, “Twelve.” 20 “And when {I broke} the seven for the four thousand, how many large baskets full of broken pieces did you pick up?” And they said to Him, “Seven.” 21 And He was saying to them, “Do you not yet understand?”

Matt. 16:12 Then they understood that He did not say to beware of the leaven of bread, but of the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.

Matt. 16:8 But Jesus, aware of this, said, “You men of little faith, why do you discuss among yourselves that you have no bread?

Mark 8:19,20 when I broke the five loaves for the five thousand, how many baskets full of broken pieces you picked up?” They said to Him, “Twelve.” 20 “And when {I broke} the seven for the four thousand, how many large baskets full of broken pieces did you pick up?” And they said to Him, “Seven.”

(3) The Blindness of the Blind Man (The cure to Spiritual Blindness)

Mark 8:22-24 And they came to Bethsaida. And they brought a blind man to Him, and entreated Him to touch him And taking the blind man by the hand, He brought him out of the village; and after spitting on his eyes, and laying His hands upon him, He asked him, “Do you see anything?” 24 And he looked up and said, “I see men, for I am seeing {them} like trees, walking about.”

Mark 8:25,26 Then again He laid His hands upon his eyes; and he looked intently and was restored, and {began} to see everything clearly And He sent him to his home, saying, “Do not even enter the village.”

Mark 8:22 And they came to Bethsaida. And they brought a blind man to Him, and entreated Him to touch him.

Mark 8:24 And he looked up and said, “I see men, for I am seeing {them} like trees, walking about.”

Mark 8:25 Then again He laid His hands upon his eyes; and he looked intently and was restored, and {began} to see everything clearly.
