14 Useful Information for Living in the Czech republic and Olomouc
Telephone Networks: Vodafone is usually the network most favoured by international students in Olomouc. With the new EU Roaming Laws, you can use your data from home here without extra charges (make sure you check with your provider) Banking: The most popular Czech banks amongst students are Česká Spořitelna and Komerční Banka. Though some students find it more convenient to use their accounts from home and use their card to pay or withdraw money at ATMs here. For those of you from England, another option is to open a Metro Bank account which offers commission free card payments and cash withdrawals around Europe. Municipal Waste Disposal Fee: You will need to pay this fee each year. It amounts to 600Kč per annum. More details will be provided about this closer to the time that payments will be due.

15 Behaviour Around the Faculty
Adhere by the rules: ‘Leave a place as you would like to find it’ and ‘Treat others as you want to be treated’ There have been issues with students of the English programme over the past couple of years and that only serves to restrict what we as PEPA can do and offer but also only makes your time here harder and much less enjoyable. We are lucky to have the new building and all these facilities lets not abuse them but make the most of what they can offer to us.

16 Behaviour Around the Faculty
Silent study room: Please be considerate of other students using the room, we all have revision for exams and work and the room is called SILENT for a reason please respect that! Cafeteria: Please clean your table after you are done and throw all your rubbish in the bins provided. Around the Faculty: This is a place of work and learning for many people not just students so please try to keep noise at a reasonable level and avoid disruptive excessive noise. Attendance and Punctuality: Please ensure that you attend your classes and arrive on time.

17 Advice from Seniors Czech Language: Appropriate Dress:
Try to learn and practice the Czech language as, contrary to some belief, it will be very useful in the later years for patient communication and integrating into university life. Appropriate Dress: Try to dress appropriately to seminars and lectures with smart casual clothes and with formal clothing to examinations. Creating a good impression is vitally important with your teachers and others in general. Having the appropriate white coat attire for anatomy practical is very important to avoid giving a negative impression (NB. White coats should NOT be worn outside the Faculty or Hospital buildings) You are all future doctors or dentists and so it is essential to behave and dress professionally.
