as it flew into the stands.
© Presto Plans Read the paragraph below and find examples of metaphor, simile, onomatopoeia, personification, oxymoron and/or alliteration. By the third inning, the home team was in a fine mess. They were down by two runs, but they knew their savior came up to bat next. Antonio held the bat like it was an extension of himself. His laser eyes stared at the pitcher. The first pitch whizzed as it flew past home plate, and the umpire screamed, “Strike!” Antonio stood staring at second base wondering if Steven would steal. The pitcher readied himself for the second pitch. When it flew in, the crack of the bat sounded like lightning, and the ball screamed as it flew into the stands.

Farm Jobs! “But everyone worked to his capacity.” – Animal Farm, Chapter Three We’re going to do a little activity today. Since Animal Farm seems to be running so well, I thought we could try something similar with our own pretend farm… I have looked back through your grade records, test scores, and presidential fitness tests to determine what job each of you is best suited for. When I call your name, come up and receive your job slip.

Farm Jobs! “But everyone worked to his capacity.” – Animal Farm, Chapter Three Everyone happy with their assignments? Good! Next, I’m going to call out the jobs that are important to the farm. If I call your job title, go to the back of the room.

Farm Jobs! “But everyone worked to his capacity.” – Animal Farm, Chapter Three Next, let’s see who we’ll need to educate. If you think your job requires a college education, go to the right side of the room (by the windows). If you think your job doesn’t require a college education, then go to the left side of the room (by the door).

Farm Jobs! “But everyone worked to his capacity.” – Animal Farm, Chapter Three Next, let’s discuss who gets what. Everyone on the farm will have the same living quarters, the same food selection, and the same pay. What do you think? Is this fair?
