2. Based on the 2000 demographic profile, Kingston had a population of five hundred and ten (U.S. Census Bureau, 2010). Males and females were close to equal in number in regards to the population. However, there was a variety in age range. The most populated age group consisted of people between the ages of eighteen and sixty-five. There were approximately seventeen American Indian or Alaska Natives, three Asians, and three Hispanics living in Kingston when the 2000 demographic profile was completed (U.S. Census Bureau, 2010).

3. There are three churches in the Kingston community which include the Kingston Assembly of God, the New Hope Regular Baptist Church, and the First Southern Baptist Church. Baptist is the primary denomination. However, several people in the community travel to different churches in nearby towns.

4. The primary source of transportation is in personal vehicles. Several people carpool due to the high gas prices, however. There are not any taxi cabs or public buses in this community. Most people own their own houses, but there are a few people that rent houses. Kingston does not have any apartments or motels. In 2000, one hundred and seventy-eight people owned their houses and thirty-eight people rented (U.S. Census Bureau, 2010). When it comes to medical care, people must drive at least twenty minutes. There are not any doctors offices or hospitals available in Kingston.

6. The school is the heart of the community. According to the U.S. Census Bureau in the year 2000, two hundred and seventy-two people were considered a high school graduate or higher, while forty-six people had obtained a Bachelors degree or higher (2010). As far as education institutions are concerned, Kingston has a public school which includes pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade all on one campus. Grades kindergarten through sixth grade is considered the elementary school. High school includes grades seventh through twelfth. In 2011, the total number of students attending Kingston was approximately two hundred and forty-eight in grades pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade.

7. The community is very supportive of both school and non-school events. It never seems to matter what the need is, the Kingston community is like a family and does whatever it takes to help. There always seems to be a friendly face wherever you go.
