7 “Ride the Rocket” is a famous slogan that the Toronto Transit commission has used for years. The TTC these days has many serious problems they need to improve but the two biggest are the fare costs and the schedule. First, the TTC costs are constantly rising. It will soon cost more than $3 for a single trip on the TTC. It does not matter if you are going 500 metres or 30 kilometers: the price is the same. The TTC should put a system in place so people are charged based on distance. Second, the TTC is very inconsistent. Bus schedules do not mean anything and it is not uncommon to have to wait an extra 30 minutes in the winter for your bus. The TTC should try to plan better or get the city to use dedicated bus lanes. I love Toronto, but I do not love waiting outside in the cold for 40 minutes. If they are not going to fix the problems, the TTC should change their slogan to “Ride the Turtle”.

8 There should be police in Toronto high schools because there has been an increase in gun violence, and students should not have to worry about their safety. If a person reads an article from the newspaper or watches the news, there seems to be a constant rise in the violence of our schools. For example, there was a stabbing at North Albion Collegiate Institute a month ago. Students need to be kept safe. In addition, students should focus on their studies and should not have to focus on their safety. With a police officer onsite, then students would not be distracted with being harmed in any way. High Schools might even have more students graduating if they feel safe from being harmed in anyway. To conclude, it is only logical to keep our kids safe and to focus on their studies. We cannot have students dying or brutally harmed in a building where learning should be flourishing.

9 Today’s Topics SCAS should (not) be considered the best school for Adults. Kids must (not) be allowed to play video games. Parents should (not) be allowed to spank their children.
