Media and Marriage Media courtship Behavior
In contemporary times, an increasing number of people meet their future spouses through shared leisure activities. Modern courtship could be increasingly thought of as a testing period for a lifetime of sharing entertainment and being members of an audience together.

Some relationships break down in the early courtship stage partly because the two people’s tastes in leisure activities and in film and television vary severely. Today, in contrast, millions of married couples spend 15 to 20 hours almost every week, receiving entertainment and information together as audience members.

Unrealistic Expectations about Marriage
For business purposes, media often exaggerate the content that is not always how it is in reality. Media sometimes brings “pressure” to a marriage because some people feel disappointment if their spouses are not as young and attractive as the people on television.

For example… Maxim and Cosmopolitan
… stress sexual perfection and prefer centerfold looks, suggesting that fantastic sex is possible, and that a woman should look like a supermodel or celebrity.

Romanticized love scenes in TV or films
Couples usually feel less intensity of their romance and start comparing to the love scenes in media.
