1 Wilson’s and Sullivan’s Scoop Sept. 19th – Sept. 23rd
What I’m Learning: This week our mentor text is “Julius: The Baby of the World” . In Reading, we are visualizing to create mental pictures, rereading to gain more details, making text-to-self connections, and inferencing. In grammar, we are exploring simple subjects and simple predicates. In writing, we are writing personal narratives. In Math, we are learning strategies to help us divide. We will have an Assessment on Tuesday and Wednesday( Split into 2 days) over multiplication and division strategies. A review for this will be Monday and Tuesday night’s Homework. We will also have our 3rd Fact Fluency test Friday. Vocabulary words and definitions: 1. doubtful – uncertain or unsure 2. nifty – very good, clever, or useful 3. ghastly - horrible 4. dazzle – amaze or impress 5. quiver – tremble or shake 6. command – order someone to do something Date: ______ Teacher News Our fundraiser is up and going! Sell at least one $25 coupon book to win a prize. Field trip money $18 to Bass Pro shop is being collected now. PTO – Now is the time to join! Parents, we have snack at 10:00. Please make sure your child has a snack or purchases one. All snacks are 50 cents each. Sullivan’s homeroom wear tennis shoes on Thurs. Wilson’s on Wed. for P.E. Homework: Reading: (Due on Friday) Assignment 1: Reading Log Assignment 2: Math: (Math homework is due nightly) Mon.- Review for pages 1-5 of tomorrow’s Assessment. Tues.- Review for tomorrow’s Assessment pages 6-10. Wed.- Multiplication Word problems Thurs.- Multiplication Word problems Tests this week: Reading and Math: Monday – Tuesday – Math Assessment p. 1-5 Wednesday – Math assessment p. 6-10 Thurs. – Friday – Grammar Test, Math Fact Fluency Test #3
