5. Federal and State powers
Elastic Clause authorizes Congress to “make all laws which shall be necessary and proper” for carrying out its duties under the Constitution.
Implied Powers are not written because of the necessary and proper clause.
Supremacy Clause says the Constitution is the supreme law of the land.
Delegated Powers are given to the federal government.
Reserved Powers are reserved for the states.
Concurrent Powers are shared between national and state governments.
Full Faith and Credit Clause requires states to respect each others laws.
