Figure 1 The URI/NAD+ Pathway Can Be Targeted for the Prevention or Treatment of HCC Increased expression of URI in inflamed or injured liver leads to AhR- and/or ER-mediated reduction of NAD+, leading to DNA damage, which, in turn, triggers dysplasia, adenoma, and HCC development.
