8. Optional Modules Optional Modules can be chosen in Year 2 & 3
In Year 1 there is a choice between practical subjects such as Advocacy and Work Experience (Term 2)

Academic contact hours hours per week
3 hours of lectures in Legal Foundations
2 hours of lectures in each core module
Workshops = 1.5 hours (‘virtual law firms’)
Team development programme
Students work in ‘Virtual Law Firms’
Personal tutor support / induction lectures
Plus: a comprehensive series of over 80 law-specific career guidance seminars and presentations.

11. Law School creates new practical learning spaces Sept 2012
The move of the Lasok Law Library into the £48M Forum Library development has enabled us to create:
• a Moot Court for simulated trials and advocacy
• boardroom ‘pods’ for virtual law firm meetings
• a 250 seat space for student group, individual and silent study

17. Community Legal Helpdesk
Operates at Exeter County Court 3 days per week:
• Student caseworkers run clinics for court users
• Offer representation, support in court and help with legal processes
• Regular weekly training on relevant issues
• Develop skills & opportunity to see law from a different perspective

19. LLB Entry Requirements
LLB Law:
• Typical Offer AAA-AAB; IB: 36-34
• Evidence of Literacy (GCSE English Language)
LLB (European):
GCSE English Language; GCE AL French /German grade A; IB French or German HL6
LLB Law with European Study:
Minimum of GCSE English Language and GCE AS in a modern foreign language grade B
