Free Fall, Terminal Velocity & Jumping Out of Planes (and stuff…)
3
Kepler’s Law (Johannes Kepler) Sir Isaac Newton – Law of Gravitation
5
In a vacuum: W (weight) = m (mass) * g (gravity) Free falling: only if the only action causing that object to move is gravity alone. KEY QUESTION: Are we supposed to see the 2 coffee filter drop and the 1 coffee filter drop reach the ground at the same time (IF THEY WERE DROPPED FROM THE SAME HEIGHT)? Why was it not so? What factor came into play? Terminal velocity happens when acceleration has reached zero because drag equals the weight.
6
At the onset of free fall
7
Acceleration during free fall
8
When terminal velocity is reached
9
Deceleration
10
Terminal velocity reached again
11
Let’s sum it up!

Da variablez v or vv= ? d or dv= ? t = ? g = ? Da formulaz… v = g * t d = ½ g* t2 t2 = 2 dv / g
