3 Highlight #1 Philosophy:
designed from the beginning to provide an education grounded in democratic ideas and critical thinking so that fascism would never again take hold of Italy These schools are now recognized around the world as the home of the Reggio Approach to early childhood education and they are located in and around the city of Reggio Emilia which is home to around 167,000 citizens representing 100 different ethnic groups

4 Highlight #2 Overview: Curriculum is based on Children’s interests.
Have many long-term projects that extend through the entire day. Children should ask questions throughout the day to the teachers and their peers. Lots of working in pairs and groups occur in the classroom. No assigned seats. Children are allowed to sit wherever they believe they will learn the most efficiently.

5 Highlight #3- Curriculum:
IPS Lab School is a project based school, which means they use workshops for the students to learn the material. The Workshops are split into each subject and the teachers follow a certain calendar to have the students achieve their objectives. The staff has an overall area of study to follow but the one need that is ahead of everything else is the students and if they need to slow down then they will go with what the student needs. The whole staff puts the students ahead of themselves!
