1. THE CASE AGAINST OSWALD
This is the simplified!! Version of the Warren commission that is only meant to summarise the conclusions of the report. At the point where the powerpoint is delivered there should be little mention of the chance that Oswald may well have been innocent or involved in a larger conspiracy. This presentation compliments the evidence book one, but there are a lot of chances for the work to be extended as homework. The selection of data by the pupils can also be seen as a task in itself. (When I googled jfk and conspiracy there were over 14 million hits!)

2. THE WARREN COMMISSION.
A few days after Kennedy was shot the new President, Lyndon Johnson set up an official inquiry into what happened.
They spent a year investigating the assassination.
It concluded that Lee Harvey Oswald had acted by himself.
This was to be known as the ‘LONE ASSASSIN’ theory.

3. The Warren Commission’s Evidence
Oswald worked at the Texas School Book Depository from where the shots were fired.
Several witnesses said they saw him entering the building on the morning of the 22/11/63 carrying a long parcel under his arm. He claimed they were curtain rods.

Other witnesses said they saw him leaving the building soon after the shots were fired.
One witness saw him at the sixth floor widow of the T.S.B.D. 40 minutes before the assassination.

5. The Warren Commission’s Evidence.
After the assassination a rifle and three spent cartridges were found by the sixth floor of the T.S.B.D.
Oswald’s palm prints were found on the rifle.
A paraffin test on Oswald’s hands indicated that he had fired a gun that day.

6. The Warren Commission’s Evidence.
The rifle found in the T.S.B.D. belonged to Lee Harvey Oswald. He had bought it from a magazine using a fake I.D.
Oswald was a COMMUNIST, he had “DEFECTED” (moved to and sworn allegiance to) to Russia, the Communist enemy of America.

One witness reported that in August 1963 Oswald had said…
“Someone ought to shoot that President Kennedy. Maybe I’ll try to do it.
