Aim: What are the characteristics of a civilization?
Do now – copy the Early Civilization vocabulary into notebooks Civilization* – a developed human society where a high level of culture, science, industry & government has been reached. Polytheistic* – believing in many gods. Ritual – a ceremony that is always performed in the same way, in order to mark an important religious or social occasion. Traditional economy* – an economy based on farming.

Create your own Civilization
Work in groups of 4 Brainstorm ideas for your name, geographic features, government, religion, jobs & writing system Each group needs to create a visual aid (posters, pamphlets, magazines, advertisements) & present the civilization to the class on October 13th & 14th . This project counts as a 100 point test grade.
