Location What are two ways you determine location and how are they different? Absolute Location- determined by a location lines of latitude and longitude Relative Location- determined by a place’s location to something else

How do you describe what a place is like? A place is defined by its physical and human characteristics. Physical- mountains, rivers, plains, plateaus, etc. Human- language, ethnicity, religion, etc.

Interaction How do humans rely on, adapt to, and modify their environment? Human rely on their environment by utilizing what it provides Humans alter their life based on what they cannot change. (warm clothes during winter) Humans modify their environment by changing what they can. (building dams or canals)

How does the movement of people, goods, and ideas affect an area’s geography? Movement encourages people, ideas, and goods to spread. New things take hold in areas that had not previously been there.

Region What makes a region? A region is an area that has at least one unifying characteristic.
