Laboratory exercises 21 hours Purpose of the exercises To get the students acquainted with the most general measurement equipment in telecommunication branch To get the students acquainted with some basic telecommunication topics in practice To realize some of the basic phenomenons and methods that are studied in the theory lessons 3-Dec-18 Telecom Basics / JPR

Material Instructions for the exercises
Instructions for the measurements The instructions include also some calculations and other tasks to be performed before and during the exercises Additional reports are not needed afterwards, all tasks should be completed in the instruction paper during the lab hours. The group may not leave the laboratory before they have completed the exercise and got the approval from the teacher. Instructions can be found in Telecom Laboratory’s homepage ( Students should print the instructions themselves. It can be done in the lab, but bring your own paper! 3-Dec-18 Telecom Basics / JPR

Execution of the laboratory course
Five exercise sessions, on thursdays at pm Start at week 46 ( ) Every exercise takes about 4 hours The exercises will be done in 4 groups, 2-3 members in each group Take your theory books and other material with you in the lab You must take part in every exercise. If you get ill or have some other things that prevent you from coming to the session, do not hesitate to ask the teacher how you can substitute your absence. The laboratory part of the course will be accepted when you have completed all exercises and returned the properly filled exercise forms and have them approved by the teacher. The contents of the exercises
1. session: The introduction of the most usual measurement equipment that are used in telecommunications : Basic measurements of low frequency signals with oscilloscopes Basic measurements of high frequency signals with spectrum analyzers 2. – 5.
