Partner reads wrong word, skips word, or stops:
“What is this word?”
Partner reads word correctly:
“Yes, that word is _____. What word? Please reread the sentence.”
Partner does not know the word:
“That word is ______. What word? Please reread the sentence.”
Partner repeats the word and rereads the sentence.

3. Correction Procedures Reads Wrong Word
Partner A – reading text and reads wrong word
Partner B asks (pointing to the word read incorrectly):

Partner A
Reads word
Partner B states:
Correct. That word is _______. What is that word?
Rereads word
Partner B asks:
Please reread the sentence
Partner - rereads the sentence and continues reading

4. Correction Procedure Unfamiliar Words
Partner A – reading text and stops
Partner B asks:
What is that word?
Partner A
Reads word (if student does not know the word, Partner B states the word)
Partner B states:

Rereads word
