Archaic because: Diction: words like netherworld not used often today. Syntax: there are several parentheticals in this sentence, and the construction “men must all acquire in their finality” shows an older voice. Treatment of the subject and Figurative Language: Ironically, death is usually not something “acquired” (like money, for example), though we still “pass on”
