Created in 1920s ,000 members December 1, law made that all German youth 10+ educated in the philosophies of the Nazi party million members 1937- Hitler Youth Rifle School established 1.5 million boys trained in rifle shooting and military field exercise

March 25, new law that children not in club, because the parents won't let them, will be removed and but in state run orphanages 1939- Hitler Youth is one of the largest youth organizations in the world with 7.3 million members

5 Propaganda Propaganda is presenting information in a way that is persuasive and is influential to the audience Propaganda was mainly displayed with posters In the posters, it displayed how Hitler thought the Germans should look like It was also used to make Hitler and his people look like the “good guys” It also gave people the impression that Hitler was god-like

6 What the Propaganda did and taught people
The children were exposed to propaganda at a very young age It was an effort to reshape German minds aka brainwashing The kids and the adults were taught to think that anyone external of Germany were their enemies They were also brainwashed to think that Hitler was the greatest person Because young and gullible kids were told that Hitler was such a good person and that what he was doing was right, they would become fascinated with becoming a Nazi and so they joined HYA In return, made the HYA even more successful The HYA wouldnt of been as successful as it was without propaganda After the war, propaganda had a bad rap because of the Nazis

7 Propaganda A lot of the posters had children that were happy in Nazi uniforms and had Hitler giving gifts to children Propaganda was also showed in schools

12 Boys Section Landjahr training camp. Boys spent months working on farms/ military related services. German version boy scout. 107,956 people by Munich-based camps (42). Posters. Expelled all jews from schools. Required for boys to go to camps. Jewish/ disabled Germans killed yr more chance to survive.

13 Girls Sections League of Girls, also known as Band Of German Maidens
Formed in 1930 The League at first consisted of two groups, or sections Girls ages were in the Young Girls’ League or in German “Jungmadel” League proper was for girls ages 14-18 There was also a voluntary girl group called “Faith and Beauty Society”
