8 © 2003 Dominion 8 AMS Town Hall Meeting January 17, 2007 San Antonio Some Concerns include.. –Internet has security and reliability issues –Climate data is the basic requirement and needs to be quality controlled, standardized and made reliable. –Small businesses need to be included in the Enterprise. –NOAA needs to rethink priorities (NPOESS climate instruments cancellation, GOES-R sounder uncertainties, lag in updating observations and climate signals that feed models).

9 © 2003 Dominion 9 AMS Town Hall Meeting January 17, 2007 San Antonio Town Hall Feedback … –There is a strong need to better define priorities and then the resultant roles including partnerships. –NOAA needs assistance from the community in helping prioritize needs and this is confounded by the dynamic nature of the field.

11 © 2003 Dominion 11 Whats Next for the ACCS? Climate Services (CS) suddenly a BIG deal! New CS questions such as water supply, regional warming, sea level, etc. Identify these NEW community priorities within Climate Services. Strive for common themes when advocating issues and remain consistent with message(s).

12 © 2003 Dominion 12 Whats Next for the ACCS? Develop a standard presentation to be delivered at local focal points – could be a Power Point or Webcast resource. Explore possible article about ACCS for inclusion in BAMS. Pursue use of on-line availability of ACCS information / activities through AMS servers. Feasibility of electronic Newsletter distributed through AMS and other local venues.
