1 Warm-up On the ENTIRE page 5 label and create the water cycle diagram. Make sure to color the entire water cycle and label all the parts transpiration

2 The Water Cycle Think-Pair Share the following question- What is precipitation? Think-Pair Share- Based upon what we just viewed, why is it important to study and understand the water cycle?

3 Pg. 6 water cycle vocab Draw a picture Vocab word Definition
precipitation condensation evaporation transpiration Run-off

4 Water Cycle Precipitation Condensation Evaporation Transpiration
Label page 6 “The Water Cycle Vocabulary”. Draw 3 columns on the page: the 1st column is pictures of the water cycle, 2nd column are the terms and the third column are definitions. Water Cycle The changes to water when it evaporates in to the air, condenses into clouds and then precipitates down to Earth. Precipitation Water droplets fall from the atmosphere in the form of rain, sleet, snow or hail. Condensation The cooling of water in the atmosphere changing gas to a liquid. Evaporation The process that occurs when water changes from a liquid to a gas caused by heat. Transpiration The passage of water vapor from a plant to the atmosphere. Run-Off Rainfall that is not absorbed by soil and travels to the ocean
