Regions of the U.S and Regions if New Jersey

US and NJ Regions There are 5 Regions in the US Northeast, Southeast, Middle West, Southwest, and West. There are 4 Regions in NJ Piedmont, Highlands, Atlantic Coastal Plains, and Ridge and Vally.

Northeast We live in this Region
Four Seasons - winter, spring, summer, fall Appalachian Mountains- found in most of the states in this region Coastal Plain- afloat low land along the edge of the Atlantic Ocean

Southeast Large area of wetlands- swamps, marshes, bayous and Everglades Crisscrosses with rivers Warm all year Davis bayou- marshy slow moving steam

Middle West Produces corn and wheat Made of interior plain
Great Plains- In the west cold winter/hot summer, produces wheat Central plains- in the east, low elevation, produces corn

Southwest Mostly made up of high plateaus, plains, plains and deserts
One of the most famous landforms is the Grand Canyon The Rickey mountains appear in this region as we'll as the west

West The great basin is in this region
The redwood trees that grow in Oregon and California are the tallest trees in the world

Atlantic Coastal Plains
We live in this region Largest region and covers more then half of New Jersey Home to the Pinelands

Piedmont Now jerseys greatest population - borders NY
Located at the foothills Palisades from the eastern border The fall line separates this region from the Atlantic Coastal Plains

Highlands Most of NY lakes are found here
The town of Franklin is known for its "glowing" rocks

Ridge and Vally Home of the Delaware water gap and High Point State Park Dairy farming is important The Appalachian Mountains run through this region
