overveiw Population: 500,000 + Young population structure.

ADMISSIONS Total admission: 2004 ( neonatal admissions 800)
Leading causes of admissions: - malnutrition - pneumonia - diarrohea Children cancer: 27 ( 4 deaths) Common: leukaemias( common), lymphoma, wilms, CNS

STRENGTHS Hematology Pathologist, FNAB, bone marrow aspiration/biopsies Arrangement for confirmation of diagnosis( specimen send to Queensland laboratory for confirmation Protocol ( same as PNGs) Cancer registry ( together with adults)

WEAKNESSES Delay in confirmation of diagnosis. Availability of chemotherapy drugs Disposal problem. No separate isolation rooms Human resources- no ownership, not trained
