Giant Hemangiomas

History of Present Illness
27-year-old woman was referred to our hepatology clinic for a second opinion Right upper quadrant discomfort for about one and a half year

Past Medication History
She had been on oral contraceptives for about 7 years but not for the last 8 years

Physical Examination BP: 93/66 P: 73 T: 97.5 Height: 5’7”
Weight: 129.8 BMI: 20

Physical Examination Well-developed, well-nourished woman HEENT: AT/NC
Neck: Supple CVS: S1, S2 regular Lungs: Clear Abdomen: Soft, nontender, masses nonpalpable, no ascites Extremities: No peripheral edema CNS: AOX3

LABS Her laboratory analysis does not reveal any abnormality

CT Scan of the Abdomen A CT scan had shown multiple liver lesions thought to be hemangiomas She was subsequently worked up thoroughly Subsequently, she had a total of 3 MRI’s following the lesions with time

MRI of the Abdomen The liver is diffusely enlarged (23 cm)
Multiple well-defined lesions within the both lobes Largest lesion was within the dome of the right lobe of the liver (10.1 x 12.4 x 16.2 cm) Hepatic vasculature is widely patent
