2 Definitions Medical Marijuana : A prescribed drug used to treat chronic pain and/or illness. Parkinson’s Disease : A disease of the nervous system that induces tremors, muscle rigidity, and imprecise movement. Deficiency of the neurotransmitter dopamine and degeneration of basal ganglia. Dyskinesia : The abnormality or impairment of voluntary movement. THC : A psychoactive ingredient in marijuana (paranoia, anxiety, drowsiness, etc.) CBD : A non-psychoactive ingredient in marijuana (wakefulness, anti-anxiety, anti-psychotic, etc.)

4 Americans are subject to prosecution for use of medical marijuana.
100% Americans are subject to prosecution for use of medical marijuana.

5 Why? The federal government has ruled marijuana as a “Schedule I Controlled Substance” but the control and management of drugs was never clearly defined in the Constitution. Schedule I Controlled Substance : Highest (worst) classification of drugs. High potential for abuse and no currently accepted medical use in treatment in the United States. Other Schedule I Controlled Substances are heroin, LSD, and ecstasy.

6 Prosecution ARIZONA Any amount of marijuana is a felony; criminal to be put in jail up to 2 years with a fine of $150,000. FLORIDA Under 20 grams is misdemeanor; any more is third degree felony and up to 5 years in prison.
