Welcome and Overview Welcome to the launch of AACTE’s new webinar series on clinical practice! Today’s webinar will feature an overview the CPC’s work during the past year to establish and define a pathway between the research and theory in clinical teacher preparation to operationalize and support best practice in the field. Discussion will include: The CPC’s framework and initial charge A sneak peek at key components of the CPC’s upcoming white paper Action toward developing a shared professional lexicon Exemplars of best practice in clinical preparation and partnership

Background: AACTE Clinical Practice Commission (CPC)
The AACTE Clinical Practice Commission (CPC) was launched in June 2015 with the goals of: Establishing a shared lexicon, Identifying model protocols and best practices, and Developing actionable recommendations for the field to define and align high-quality clinical practice in teacher preparation and to advance operationalized practice. The CPC is currently working to develop a white paper with an anticipated release in 2017. Understanding that partnerships and programs have unique characteristics, the goal of the commission is to capture the various ways highly effective clinical practice is implemented across the country. Following the release of the white paper, the CPC will embark on emissary work to continue to support the advancement of clinical practice across the nation.
