Corral – Music Program 11:00 Dec. 13- Christmas Party 12:00-2:00 Reading: We will read The Wild Christmas Reindeer and many other books about reindeer. We will ask and answer questions about key details in a text. (RL1.1) Students can retell the using what happened in the BME (RL1.2). Describe character, setting, and major events from the story using key details. (RL1.3). Explain major differences between books that tell stories and books that give information and use various text features to locate key facts or information in a text. (RL/RI1.5) Math: Students will understand the meaning of the equal sign and determine if equations involving addition and subtraction are true or false. (1. OA.7) Count, read, and write numerals, and represent a number of objects to 60. (NBT.1) Writing: Students will write silly animal stories and informational pieces on reindeer. (W1.1, W1.2) Sight Words: We will work on List 2 of the second 100 list this week. Practice the highlighted words in your child’s folder . Language: We will learn about possessive nouns. (L1.2) Spelling: drink, stacked, five, good, name, six, napkin, us, jump, yes, some, was Homework Monday: Language sheet. Read Take Home Book and answer comprehension questions. Tuesday: Math sheet and read Take Home Book Wednesday: Read Take Home Book Thursday: Math sheet and read a book from home Read the take home book in the green folder and answer the questions!!!! This is very important! Return them to school on Thursday. Vocabulary- tundra- flat, cold land with no trees harness- tool used for joining two or more arctic animals herd- group of animals of the same kind frantic- wildly excited or scared arctic- at or near the North Pole Reminders Your child may buy ice cream on Friday for S1. Don’t forget! Your child must master 70% of Language Arts skills AND 70% of Math skills AND read and comprehend Level I independently to promote to 2nd grade.
