This is a key time to practice independence.
Students come into the classroom quietly and unpack all of their belongings by themselves. Students are responsible for turning in any notes or returned papers. Students have assignments on their desk to work on in the morning. Similarly, at dismissal, they also pack their belongings by themselves.

Speech Homework can be found on a calendar in the speech folder.
Homework packets will be sent home in the student’s folders every Friday and will be due the following Friday. Homework will include math practice, reading practice (book or fluency practice), and spelling words. Speech Homework can be found on a calendar in the speech folder.

Reading and Writing strategies that are specific to each student
Fundations and Reading A-Z are used for many students. Guided Reading Groups (fluency and decoding skills) Writing – daily practice responding to a variety of prompts

Math groups are differentiated based on individual students ability and goals
Primary focus is on number sense, basic operations, and for some, money and telling time
