Put together by Support for Learning Teachers, this programme of free events is for all parents and carers who are interested in learning more about the topics covered. The format of the coffee morning events will be: A short presentation from an expert in the chosen field An open discussion involving everyone with tea/coffee The meetings will give parents and carers the opportunity to ask questions and to meet the experts as well as other families who face similar challenges. We hope you find the sessions helpful and welcome your feedback. Multi-cultural Family Base Citadel Spartans Chatterbooks (Edinburgh Library’s book group for dyslexic children) The Hub The Junction YMCA Richmond’s Hope (Coping with Loss and Bereavement) School Nursing Service Friday 8th March 9.30 – 10.30 Positive Parenting Input from Sue Cameron, Family Learning Positive and specific praise Using open questions to increase emotional literary for children Following instructions How to avoid escalation traps Programme for 2018/19 Friday 28th September, 9.30 – 10.30am Mental Health and Emotional Wellbeing Input from Ronnie Willetts, School Nurse Thursday 1st November 5.30pm – 7.00pm (Please note this is an evening event which coincides with Trinity Academy’s Open Evening) Community Groups and Partner Services The event will include an overview of services and information stalls for the following organisations: Friday 17th May 9.30 – 10.30 Managing Children’s Behaviour Input from Jennifer Bogle, Educational Psychologist whistle-stop tour of tips and strategies relating to behaviour management with a particular focus on supporting children with ADHD.
