Assignment: Now that you have read the White Man’s Burden, it is now your task to write a poem about the Brown Man/Woman’s Burden. Explain the social, political, and economic challenges that you face experience simply because they are not “White.” For this assignment you will create a poem that is about the same length, complexity, and detail as the White Man’s Burden poem.

Each Stanza must be 8 lines long.

The Spanish American War Doc Analysis- Students will annotate the documents and complete the questions and graphic organizer. DUE AT THE END OF THE PERIOD.
Students will work on their final draft of their poems, “The Brown Person’s Burden.” Final Draft will be due THURSDAY.
If students have extra time there is a packet on the brown book shelves, “US Invasion of Cuba.” They may work on that.
