6
Mission Statement The design team will develop a fully automated device to cut and form strips of silver. The device is required to produce strips quickly and accurately while being robust and portable.
7
Project Objectives Design and Build a Functional Prototype to Replace Current System. Maintain Tolerances Multiple Lengths Quick 2”, 3”, 5” & 6.5” R=1/4” 1/4” Tolerance ( +/- 1/16” )
8
Project Design Specifications
High Priority Criteria - Safety: Emergency Switch & Safety Guards - Performance: Adjustability, Tolerance & Parts/sec. Medium Priority Criteria - Durable - Use of Replaceable Parts - Cost of Production < $5,000 Low Priority Criteria - Curvature of Strips
