2 Luke 12:22-23 And He said to His disciples, “therefore I tell you do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat, nor about your body, what you will put on. For life is more than food, and the body more than clothing” Jesus words to us today

7 1. Continuing to take the plunge requires us to have the ability to cast!
Cast- an act of throwing Anxious- to have care and concern Jesus was speaking to the hearts of His disciples They were anxious about so many things

8

9 2. Continuing to take the plunge requires us to receive our life from Christ presence
Pscuhe- breath of life It means both the abstract life and the concrete Life - soul - immaterial - material

10 Why! Why should we not be anxious about our life?
The animating element in humankind (life) is the soul given to us by our lord. The soul is That which goes on!!!!! Why! Why should we not be anxious about our life? The breath giver. Life is founded in our soul. Life is founded in that immaterial part of who we are. It is not founded in the actually body. This is why so many pray this scripture and get it confused. Jesus was saying to us that he has our life. Our soul in his hands. This body will be flawed enough at some point to pass on but Jesus holds the essence and core of who we are

11 The breath giver (Jesus). Life is founded in our soul
The breath giver (Jesus). Life is founded in our soul. Life is founded in that immaterial part of who we are. It is not founded in the actual physical body. This is why so many pray this scripture and get it confused. Jesus was saying to us that he has our life (Our soul in his hands). This body will be flawed enough at some point to pass on but Jesus holds the essence and core of who we are in His hands. Dr. Joseph

12 2. Continuing to take the plunge requires us to shed the outer garments!
This is referring that which is on the outside of us. So does it speak of clothing yes but it is speaking of that uses art fancy garment. He was taking a Direct hit to the prest. Their outfits had become so fancy and replicated that of city officials and those that were in power or those that were rich. It was the outer garment that brought this separation It also refers to that which is covering the inside. Tha which is the covering over our true self Clothing- in the Greek is referring to the outer garment The outer garment in this time in history was the fanciest part of a persons clothing no matter their gender

13 That which covers the true self

14 Look at the outside of this robe
Jesus is saying cloths are not of our concern. I believe it is humble. Usually in this reference he would be referring to providing the basics so he is going to provide what we need but the ornant covers. So when he would speak of the outer garment much of them would be adorned with jewels and expensive threads somethings even made of gold and silver. Just no reason and covers up what was truly happening in side.

15 Jesus goes on to remind the disciples that if he is concerned about the birds, how much more concerned would he be concerned about his people? So Jesus s saying to us today that we need to remove our outer garment of anxiousness and place it at his feet. We have to place it at his feet Jesus

16 So what is Jesus asking us to do today?
To possibly place our outer garment of anxiety at his feet and leave it at his throne. We have to leave this at his throne in order to accept what it is that he desiring. We have to remember what he is desiring. We have to ensure that we are achieving submission and trust. We have to place these things at his feet. We have to fo to a place that brings us to submission. What are your anxieties about right now. What are they? Let’s be honest with ourselves. Let’s be honest with who we truly are.
