2. Ratios and Proportional Relationships
Ratio- A comparison of two quantities.
Rate– A ratio comparing two different units.
Unit rate– A rate with a denominator of 1.
Equivalent ratios - Fractions that are equal in value, but may have different numerators and denominators.
Proportion- A statement that two ratios are equal.
Direct Proportion:  The relation between two quantities whose ratio remains constant. The graph is a straight line that passes through the origin.
