Learning Outcomes Participants will conduct a gap analysis, identify their current state of integration and where they want to be, and how professional development is supporting those efforts. Participants will be able to identify one or two ways they can foster meaningful dialogue with faculty and student support areas around what can be done in and outside the classroom to foster a learning-centered and equity-minded campus that helps the institution achieve its stated student outcome or success goals. Participants will be able to identify one or two ways professional development can support the integration of their college’s Student Success and Support Program, Equity, Basic Skills, Diversity, and Noncredit plans through professional development opportunities. 4CSD Conference- Coordinating Plans, 03/17/17

Mission The mission of the Institutional Effectiveness and Inclusive Excellence Steering Committee is to develop and articulate the institutional approach to fostering an equity-minded, learning-centered and inclusive community for all students, faculty and staff. To fulfill its mission the Institutional Effectiveness and Inclusive Excellence Steering Committee will facilitate streamlined processes, improved communication and improved collaboration through its regular, coordination meetings between student government, academic senate, student equity, S4S (basic skills), non-credit, student success and support program, and other groups as applicable (e.g., grant funded projects). 4CSD Conference- Coordinating Plans, 03/17/17

Vision The Institutional Effectiveness and Inclusive Excellence Steering Committee is dedicated to leveraging resources, both fiscal and human, equity and inclusion as catalysts for institutional effectiveness and student success, which are aligned with the College’s institutional mission to be an institution of excellence and its strategic goal for student support to “…provide student support to facilitate equitable student success and maximize opportunity for all students.” 4CSD Conference- Coordinating Plans, 03/17/17

14 Highlights of Where We’ve Been and Where We Are Now
Provided a forum for coordination of student success activities around common data and institution-set standards. Agreed to focus on activities, programs and services that can help improve student completion called the “Canyons Completes” initiative Developing a three-year plan to advance the Canyons Completes initiative Developing a common inventory of activities supporting student success, including funding sources Established tri-chair leadership from Student Services, Academic Affairs, and Institutional Research Developed operating procedures with a mission and vision statement and overarching goals Improved communication, collaboration & integrated planning Improved coordination of research, evaluation and development of CCCCO plans, including providing support for professional development needs Formalized an ongoing review of progress on indicators relative to goals, establishment of new goals, review of strategies for achieving goals within Equity, Basic Skills, SSSP and other efforts, as well as discussion of unmet needs and ways to meet those needs Scheduled a minimum of three, 2-hour meetings per semester with additional work group meetings as needed 4CSD Conference- Coordinating Plans, 03/17/17

15 Supporting Professional Development
Coordinated efforts across funding sources have supported Professional Development for numerous trainings, workshops, conferences, including: Faculty Inquiry Groups in English and Math (Student Equity and Basic Skills) Development of curriculum and stipend for faculty coordinators for the College’s Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning Equity Speakers (Title V grant and Student Equity) Research Office (SSSP, Student Equity and Basic Skills) Counselors- MBTI/SII, Online instruction (SSSP) Association of American Colleges and Universities annual meetings and other training (Student Equity and Basic Skills) Strengthening Student Success Conference (Student Equity, SSSP and Basic Skills) RP Group Conference (Student Equity, SSSP and Basic Skills) 3CSN (Student Equity and Basic Skills) California Acceleration Projection (Student Equity and Basic Skills) Institutional Effectiveness Partnership Initiative workshops Contract with Inquiry2Improvement to help with Guided Pathways (Student Equity and Basic Skills) 4CSD Conference- Coordinating Plans, 03/17/17
