3 SERDC Mission The mission of the Corporation is to unite industry professionals, organizations, government agencies and individuals engaged in the business of recycling; to foster communications amongst those groups; to promote sustainable recycling programs; and, to coordinate education and public awareness activities related to recycling.

Private/Public Partnership Use private sectors investments & need for material to build champions within the public sector. Strong End Markets The Southeast has strong demand for recyclables, no action needed. Supportive Policy Work with state legislation to pass supportive policy (possible landfill ban on containers). Thoughtful Outreach Good state level outreach. Program changes call for communications push on local level. Example 1: Low level effort
