Lessons from Isaiah Faith in our Father
It is peculiarly the work of the Holy Spirit to lead us into this inmost sanctuary of sonship. J. Ker July 22, 2018

Isaiah 63:7 I will recount the steadfast love of the LORD, the praises of the LORD, according to all that the LORD has granted us, and the great goodness to the house of Israel that He has granted them according to His compassion, according to the abundance of His steadfast love.

Isaiah 63:8 For He said, “Surely they are My people, children who will not deal falsely.” And He became their Savior.

Isaiah 63:9 In all their affliction He was afflicted, and the angel of His presence saved them; in His love and in His pity He redeemed them; He lifted them up and carried them all the days of old.

Isaiah 63:10 But they rebelled and grieved His Holy Spirit; therefore He turned to be their enemy, and Himself fought against them.

Genesis 6:6 And the LORD regretted that He had made man on the earth, and it grieved Him to His heart.

Psalm 78:40 How often they rebelled against Him in the wilderness and grieved Him in the desert!

Ephesians 4:30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by Whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

Isaiah 63:10 But they rebelled and grieved His Holy Spirit; therefore He turned to be their enemy, and Himself fought against them.

Habakkuk 3:2 O LORD, I have heard the report of You, and Your work, O LORD, do I fear. In the midst of the years revive it; in the midst of the years make it known; in wrath remember mercy.

Isaiah 63:11 Then His people remembered the days of old, of Moses. Where is He who brought them up out of the sea with the shepherds of His flock? Where is He who put His Holy Spirit in the midst of them? (NASB)

Isaiah 63:12-13 Who caused His glorious arm to go at the right hand of Moses, who divided the waters before them to make for himself an everlasting name, who led them through the depths? Like a horse in the desert, they did not stumble.

Isaiah 63:14 Like livestock that go down into the valley, the Spirit of the LORD gave them rest. So You led Your people, to make for Yourself a glorious name.

Isaiah 63:11 Then His people remembered the days of old, of Moses. Where is He who brought them up out of the sea with the shepherds of His flock? Where is He who put His Holy Spirit in the midst of them (NASB)

2 Timothy 2:11-13 The saying is trustworthy, for: If we have died with Him, we will also live with Him; if we endure, we will also reign with Him; if we deny Him, He also will deny us; if we are faithless, He remains faithful—for He cannot deny Himself.

Isaiah 63:15 Look down from heaven and see, from Your holy and beautiful habitation. Where are Your zeal and Your might? The stirring of Your inner parts and Your compassion are held back from me.

Isaiah 63:16 For You are our Father, though Abraham does not know us, and Israel does not acknowledge us; You, O LORD, are our Father, our Redeemer from of old is Your name.

Isaiah 63:16 For You are our Father, though Abraham does not know us, and Israel does not acknowledge us; You, O LORD, are our Father, our Redeemer from of old is Your name.

Isaiah 63:16 For You are our Father, though Abraham does not know us, and Israel does not acknowledge us; You, O LORD, are our Father, our Redeemer from of old is Your name.

Luke 19:10 For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.

For Our Consideration What does the Holy Spirit being grieved mean to you? Do you need some sort of deliverance today? Is God able to still do that in our day? What does faith mean to you? Is Jesus your redeemer? Not only in salvation, but in every area?

Prayer Focus Thank You Father for Your great love for us. Thank You for Your Word to lead, guide and instruct us. Thank You for the New Covenant with better promises and Mediator.
