Word document Size 12 Times New Roman font ABC Order Double Space Use your “MLA Format for typing works cited” reference sheet (keep in your folder or binder)

4 How do I cite my source? Follow the MLA (Modern Language Association) guidelines -Use the following website as a reference: Search-MLA

5 MLA format for an online source
Author last name, first name. “Title of source (article title).” Title of container, (institution/organization) Publication date (day month year), Location (website url).

6 MLA format for a video from the web
Author/performer (last name, first name) Title of source Title of container (youtube, etc.) Other contributors (who uploaded the video if it’s on youtube) Publication date (day month year) Location (Website url)

7 Pass out chromebooks by partner
Have one partner Log on by using his/her and /computer password. The formula for your is on the board in green marker.

8 on chromebooks: 1st citation – “I do”
1. Go to 2. Search the following: alternatives to animal testing gaining ground 3. Click on the first result “animal testing…” with the url “articles.baltimoresun.com” 4. Copy the citation from the board on to your guided notes. _1_consumer-products-animal-testing-experiments

9 on chromebooks: 2nd citation- “we do”
Go to youtube.com and search “Why do we need the modern zoo?” Click on the first video that comes up (from eco sapien) As a class, let’s find the necessary information we need to include in our citation for this online video source. Copy the citation on your guided notes.

10 In chromebooks: 3rd citation – “You do”
With your research partner, Go to google.com and search “how states moved towards stricter voter id laws” Click on the first link. Use your notes to create a citation for this source. Write your citation on your guided notes sheet.

11 Exit Ticket! Go to the south Oldham middle school website. Go to “for students” and click “student .” Click on “word” and create an mla citation for one of your researched sources. Share your document with me by clicking “share” at the top right-hand corner and type my address:
