This week, we are reviewing cause and effect.
For each effect (event that happened), Try to figure out the cause… What made it happen? Everyone could tell which ranch a cow belonged to (EFFECT) BECAUSE each rancher put a special brand on his cows. The long trip of the cowboys often took months (EFFECT) BECAUSE the cattle could only walk fifteen miles a day. Cowboys wore hats with wide brims to keep the sun out of their eyes (EFFECT) BECAUSE it was hot on the cowboy trail. Try to think of some causes and effects of your own for tickets and clips up!!

We are also reviewing facts and opinions this week
We are also reviewing facts and opinions this week. Remember that facts are statements that can be proven with information, and opinions are the beliefs or feelings that a person or group has. Try to decide if the following statements are facts or opinions… Twice a year, cowboys drove all of the cattle together. The cattle with long, sharp horns were called longhorns. Being a cowboy is not a fun job! The cattle could only walk 15 miles a day. The best part of the cowboy clothing was the bandanna. It was scary being a cowboy.
