1. warm-up (fusion, non-journal)
Please have out your homework in which you compared Mr. Allan and Edgar Allan Poe to Fortunato and Montresor.
Look over your responses, and try to add one additional detail per box.
After this is done, then you will share with one other person your ideas, gathering more if needed.
Then, you will decide which of these four you feel presents the best case-evidence in the story:

Edgar Allan Poe as Montresor
Edgar Allan Poe as Fortunato

2. Cask, Four Corners
Each of the four corners of the room is designated according to the following categories:
Mr. Allan as Montresor
Poe as Montresor
Mr. Allan as Fortunato
Poe as Fortunato
You are to choose a corner, based on which you feel is most clearly evidenced and presented in the book.

3. Splitting Groups
Now, depending on group sizes, we will split groups. No one group should have more than 5 individuals in it, so if you are 6 or more, you will split into two groups.

4. Poster creations
You will now have 20 minutes to create an illustrative poster that details evidence based on your idea.
Group who provides the overall best case will all be on “genius” board and will receive a late work pass (turn in late work for full points).
You render yourself ineligible, even if your group wins, if you slack off and do not participate just as much as others in your group. I’ll be watching for full participation. In order to earn a late homework pass, YOU MUST FULLY PARTICIPATE.

5. poster presentations
We will now present the arguments for individuals in “The Cask of Amontillado” symbolically representing Mr. Allan and Mr. Poe.
