The aim: Enrich the national level communication through promotion of some Eurostat products

Background Positive impact from many NSIs retweeting Eurostat's tweets on its recent flagship publications Eurostat's tri- and 22-lingual yearbook articles in Statistics Explained could be better promoted

Tri- & multilingual yearbook articles in Statistics Explained
* The Eurostat yearbook and the Eurostat regional yearbook are available in Statistics Explained in English, French and German * Twenty of these articles are available in 19 additional EU languages Currently the Eurostat yearbook consists of 17 introductory articles and 68 main articles based on statistical data. It is an online-only publication with rolling updates throughout the whole year. Currently the Eurostat regional yearbook consists of an introductory article and 15 main articles based on statistical data. It is published once a year in the autumn as paper & PDF (English only) and online in Statistics Explained. 20 of the = 83 main articles are translated into 2+19 = 21 languages = all official EU languages except Maltese and Irish. (Croatian: Currently 13 online, the remaining 7 will emerge there by the end of 2015) . The textual elements within tables, figures and maps are kept in English in the Eurostat regional yearbook and translated only into French and German in the Eurostat yearbook.

Examples of multilingual articles
Currently 17 are from the online-only Eurostat yearbook and 3 from the Eurostat regional yearbook 22 languages = all official EU languages except Maltese and Irish. (Croatian: Currently 13 online, the remaining 7 will emerge there by the end of 2015) 18 updated annually, two (Government finance statistics and Minimum wage statistics) twice a year. 22 updates scattered throughout the year Most of the 63 trilingual articles are updated once a year, some every 2-3 years, for example Innovation statistics, Farm structure statistics and Land cover, land use and landscape

In practice… Eurostat would
Eurostat would inform the NSIs on the day of a release of a new translation by providing link(s) to the article(s) via Each NSI could then communicate on the article(s) according to its own policy
