1 Plants vs Animals Plant Structures
Roots: Gather nutrients, help support the plants structure. Stem: Holds up the leaves and flowers. Cell wall: Made of cellulose, give structure, and protect cells Xylem- Transports water and nutrients from roots to leaves. Phloem- Transports food from leaves to the rest of the plant (flushes and flows down like a toilet flushing)

2 Plant Structures Leaves: Site where cells contain most chloroplasts.
Contain Chlorophyll which provides food through a chemical process. Stomata: Singular tiny openings in leaves. Similar to our mouths that we use for breathing.

3 Plant Structures Flowers: Reproductive Organs of the plant- Pistil is female portion, Stamen is male portion Fruits: Holds and protects seeds along with spreading them. Seed: Embryonic plant, formed from sexual plant reproduction (both gametes)

4 Compare and contrast Circulatory system- Xylem, Phloem
Skeletal/Muscular system- Roots, Stem Respiratory system- Stomata Reproductive system- Fruits, Flowers, Seeds Roots similar to intestines because they absorb water and nutrients
