For this assignment, you are to write a letter to your past self. The purpose of this assignment is: 1. To provide a record of your life and who you were 2. To anchor in time your current views, attitudes, philosophy, and outlook 3. To explore your feelings and opinions about a variety of issues

4 Letter Content Your letter will have 4 sections. Use the following 4 sections to help you compose your letter. You do not have to write every suggestion verbatim, but use them to help you form your ideas. This letter is entirely private. It will not be shared with anyone, except me to assess your writing. Make sure you title your letter and write your first and last name on it.

5 Part One: Me, as a Freshman
My hopes, fears, dreams, intentions, goals, problems, concerns, likes, dislikes, joys, frustrations; what I liked about myself; what I didn’t like about myself; what I’m proud of; what I think about; what bothers me; who I was, etc

6 Part Two: My World A description of my home, bedroom, school, neighborhood, town; favorite places to go; chores, allowance, pet(s), possessions, clothes, religion, current events; FAVORITES – books, music groups, movies, TV, and Family, friends, best friend(s), teachers, bf, gf, who I like, people I’d like to know better, people I admire and respect, important people in my life, people who annoy me, etc. at that time and now. How have things changed? Reflect...

7 Part Three: What I Do Hobbies, pastimes, sports, school activities, what I do with friends, favorite snacks and foods, chores, how I spent my weekends and vacations, special activities I did, organizations I belonged to, etc. vs. today.

8 Part Four: MY FUTURE Predictions, what I wanted to do, my long range intentions, what I looked forward to; what I dreaded; my goals, my hopes and fears for the world; summer vacation, college, marriage, employment, career path, etc vs. my ideas today.
