We will be an important engine for Wales’s economic growth by providing a comprehensive range of services to co-operatives, mutuals social enterprises and employee owned businesses. Communities We will develop and implement co-operative solutions to strengthen communities and promote inclusion.

7 Social Business Wales Eligible Businesses must be looking to grow and fit one of the growth principles: Expansion Diversification Collaboration Transformation

8 Social Business Wales Expansion - Expanding existing provision by scaling up for example offering an existing or improved product to a known market or new market Diversification - Developing a new product for a known market or a new market Collaboration - Collaborating with other business to access larger market opportunities Transformation - Transforming a traditionally owned business to an employee ownership model

9 One to One Support Visioning and growth planning Business planning
Stakeholder engagement with existing employees Legal structure advice and incorporation Support the workforce to negotiate with the exiting owner Board development and support to manage any potential conflict of interest of employee directors Business planning Financial planning Independent valuations Develop legal heads of terms Sales strategy and marketing Tax and VAT advice Recruitment and HR

10 Social Business Wales Criteria for support will include:
Identified growth aspirations are in place and viable business proposal Identified key stakeholders to deliver these growth aspirations are in place Jobs will be created as a result of the support within 2 years Identified distinct trading activity Capacity and skill to deliver Identified clear social objectives

Over 200 beneficiaries per year across the project Upskilling 500 people a year from disadvantaged backgrounds Working on the construction of a second site in the Gower, with plans to develop a new programme for commercial organisations
