Service/Resource Discovery
CE, SE and NE published in Globus MDS Same technology, different schemas Integrating schemas? Not really! More data modeling and a new schema Modeling guidelines: Both detailed and aggregate hosts info service-oriented view CIM model Transition: Element -> Service (CS, SS and NS) 5 September 2002 5th EU-DataGRID Conference

GLUE schema – CS implementation status
Conceptual model: stable Schema implementation: Ready (missing transition to service) Recently added file system info and schema vers. Information providers: from EDG ready by 15th Sept CS+Cluster+Subcluster info (no detailed host info) Simpler case: CS on top of 1 cluster, 1 subcluster We can use the monitoring framework (Netsaint&Nagios) to inject host info in the MDS From Globus ready by 20th Sept CS+Cluster+Subcluster+Host info Simpler case: CS on top of 1 cluster, 1subcluster, 1 host They are working on Ganglia info providers to manage multi-host case Release: GLUE schema 1.0 only CS schema will be delivered with GT2.2 (20th Sept) 5 September 2002 5th EU-DataGRID Conference
9
GLUE schema – SS implementation status
Conceptual model: the presented one has been discussed yesterday, seems to meet all the requirements Schema implementation: Raw one at work, as soon as we agree on the conceptual model, just a couple of days to issue the new one Information providers (EDG): To be done Release: in GLUE schema 1.1 Will be delivered in GLUE 5 September 2002 5th EU-DataGRID Conference

GLUE Schema – EU deployment
@CNAF-BOLOGNA Static CS example working at grid006f.cnaf.infn.it Moving to EDG 1.2 release Adding final CS schema and info providers Configuring RB for testing Configuring GIIS @PADOVA Already moved to EDG1.2 Last CS schema and static example configured 5 September 2002 5th EU-DataGRID Conference
12
GLUE Schema – US deployment
Top level GIIS to be updated with Glue Schema 1.0 GRIS with the current Glue Schema on MDS 2.1 and static data to be upgraded to MDS 2.2 and Globus Info Provider 5 September 2002 5th EU-DataGRID Conference
13
R-GMA implementation and interoperability with MDS
Service/Resource Discovery and GLUE schema R-GMA implementation and interoperability with MDS The UML description of the schema is implementation-independent Will be used for schema implementation in R-GMA by WP3 Info providers can be easily adapted 5 September 2002 5th EU-DataGRID Conference
14
Authorization services from VO LDAP to VOMS
EDG Tools proposed for use to iVDGL collaborators VO LDAP server VO GroupMAN edg-mkgridmap Work in progress… VOMS under study by iVDGL collaborators EDG WP2 security working on integration with OGSA architecture iVDGL collaborators becoming aware of LCAS/LCMAPS FNAL – Working on KCA/X509 5 September 2002 5th EU-DataGRID Conference
15
Common software deployment procedures
Goals: Contribute to a distribution that: Is EDG and VDT compliant (can be included in VDT/EDG) Includes main EDG and VDT components Enforces common flexible configuration rules Allows for interoperation of testbeds Plan: Distribute EDG CA (End of September, edg-release new schema) Distribute EDG Replica Catalogue with GSI Distribute UI, RB, JSS, L&B as “standalone” components Distribute information providers if requested Propose a configuration strategy to both VDT and EDG Work on a common EDG-VDT versioning strategy Helping experiments with software distribution (CMS/ATLAS PACMAN distribution) 5 September 2002 5th EU-DataGRID Conference
16
Data Movement and Management
It is part of GLUE phase II. Setting up of working groups in progress with involvement with EDG/WP2. The existing collaboration between the Globus Team and EDG/WP2 is a good starting point. Experiment requirements drive the effort. 5 September 2002 5th EU-DataGRID Conference
17
5th EU-DataGRID Conference
Joint EU-US grid demos IST November, Copenaghen SC November, Baltimore Goals: Basic collaboration between European and US grid projects Interoperability between grid domains for applications submitted by users from different virtual organizations Controlled use of shared resources subject to agreed policy Integrated use of heterogeneous resources from iVDGL and EDG testbed domains 5 September 2002 5th EU-DataGRID Conference
18
5th EU-DataGRID Conference
Joint EU-US grid demos Hardware definition in progress. First simple sumission tests in progress. Work on infrastructure and application demos as much as possible before the middle of September. Joint Task force in Chicago September, 2002 for first DataTAG/iVDGL and ATLAS rehearsal. 5 September 2002 5th EU-DataGRID Conference
